Are you considering becoming a Yoga instructor? Aura Wellness Center is a facilitator of online Yoga certification, onsite Yoga instructor training courses, and the continuing education of experienced instructors with Yoga teacher training programs. Before you start teaching Yoga classes, you must clearly understand what Yoga is and how it can benefit your students. Yoga is a form of exercise that helps to improve flexibility, strength, and balance. It can also help to reduce stress and improve overall well-being. As a Yoga instructor, you’ll need to be able to communicate the benefits of Yoga to your students. You’ll also need to be able to adapt your classes to meet the needs of each student.
Which Style is Best for You?
There are many different Yoga styles, each with its benefits. If you’re considering becoming a Yoga instructor, choosing the style that best suits your personality and teaching goals is important. For example, Hatha Yoga might be a good fit if you’re looking to teach a class that holds postures. Vinyasa Yoga might be better if you’re interested in a more challenging and physically demanding class. Ultimately, the best way to determine which style is best for you is to try a few different classes and see what feels right. Additionally, if you are completely familiar with a particular style, there’s no harm in staying within the same field or something similar. For example, if you have ten years of Vinyasa experience, you might not have a deep passion for teaching Yin Yoga.
Your Passion is a Guide
When considering becoming a Yoga teacher, your passion is likely one of the biggest factors guiding your decision. Teaching Yoga is an incredibly wonderful experience, allowing you to share your love of the practice with others and help them improve their health and well-being. It’s also important to be aware of the commitment to becoming a Yoga instructor. Before taking the plunge, ensure you’re prepared to dedicate the time and energy necessary to provide your students with the best possible experience.
Student Interest
If you’re considering becoming a Yoga instructor, it’s important to ensure student interest in the style of Yoga you plan to teach. If there aren’t enough students interested in taking your classes, making a living as a yoga instructor will be difficult. Therefore, do your research and find out what type of Yoga is most popular in your area before committing to becoming a Yoga instructor. Whatever you decide to teach, you want classes to be full. Empty classes are demoralizing and do take a toll on new teachers.
Embrace the Process
Considering anything is a process that involves thoughtful consideration of all factors involved. The first step is to educate yourself about what being a Yoga instructor entails. You’ll need to learn about the different types of Yoga, the benefits of Yoga, and how to teach Yoga techniques properly. Once you understand what’s involved, you can start to weigh the pros and cons. Some become Yoga teachers because they’re passionate about helping others improve their health and well-being. Others do it for the flexibility and freedom of being your boss. There are also some drawbacks, such as low pay and long hours. Ultimately, it’s up to you to decide if becoming a Yoga instructor is right for you.
Pondering
Considering is a path that may lead you to become a Yoga instructor if you follow through with the steps. You may want to consider why you want to become a Yoga teacher, if you have the time to commit, and if you are physically able. Are you a self-starter? Good teachers motivate themselves. Other things to think about are whether or not you have the personality for it and if you would be good at teaching. You should also consider the certification or training required for your desired positions. Becoming a Yoga instructor can be a rewarding experience, but it is important to ensure that it is the right fit for you.
Beyond Considering
Planning on becoming a Yoga instructor is a serious step. There are many things to consider beyond just whether or not you think you would be good at the job. One of the most important things to research is what kind of certification is required in your area. Once you understand the requirements, you can start planning how to acquire the necessary skills and experience. Another important thing to consider is whether or not you have the time and financial resources to invest in getting certified to become a Yoga teacher. Becoming an instructor can be a reality if you’re confident you can commit.
Online or In-Person?
There are many options available for Yoga teacher training. You can choose to do an online course or attend training in person. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Online courses are more affordable and flexible, but you won’t get the same hands-on experience as in-person training. In-person training is more expensive, but you’ll get to meet other yoga instructors and learn from them directly. Whichever option you choose, make sure that a reputable organization accredits the course.
Know the Upfront Cost
One of the things you’ll need to factor in is all the costs for Yoga teacher training. These costs include books, meals, application fees, materials, lodging, and transportation. While some teacher training programs may offer payment plans, it’s important to be aware of all the potential costs before you commit. Online courses will be less costly, but a few books will be needed. Every school and university charges for books or refers you to a book supplier. Sometimes, interns attend exotic vacation-style training for $3000 to $20,000 and find out that books are not included in the price. However, hidden application, membership, and paperwork fees drive interns crazy. Once you’ve factored in all the costs, you can decide if becoming a Yoga instructor is right for you.
Online Training
On the other hand, we have online courses that don’t require tangible materials. In this case, you have an online dashboard. Some students order their books in Kindle format, while some choose to have books shipped to them. The advantage of Kindle is instant access to books. Ultimately, the decision is up to you, but this gives our students two different options for learning in the comfort of their homes.
Distance Learning Option
Distance learning courses still exist at Aura Wellness Center. These are not online programs because all materials are shipped directly to you. Once you open the box, everything you need for your Yoga certification is included. So, what’s inside a Camp-in-a-Box course? Included in your course are a syllabus, instructions, books, DVDs, and CDs. Is it old-fashioned? Maybe, but some students specifically want the materials in their hands.
