Since Restorative Yoga is about rejuvenating the body, sequencing based on ailments and for certain parts of the body is common. We cover 90+ sequences that range from focusing on a certain part of the body (upper back, knees, shoulders, etc.) to particular ailments (colds, bronchitis, sciatica, rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, high blood pressure, etc.) to mental health needs (depression, anxiety, stress, etc.). Why is it called, “Yoga Teacher Training Camp-in-a-Box?”

In 1998, Aura Wellness Center started offering Yoga Teacher Trainings, lead by Dr. Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500, YACEP, called “Yoga Teacher Training Camps” – a full month immersion course.

By 2002, many of our local students had said they wanted to take a Yoga Teacher Training, however, due to family obligations, work schedules, and cost, it was impossible to take a month off and become a Yoga teacher. Dr. Paul Jerard started thinking about how to make an affordable, convenient, and self-paced training to work on anyone’s schedule.

He made these new courses with the same curriculum, materials, and lessons as an onsite training, so that a graduating teacher would have the same experience. These courses would be later shipped in boxes all over the world with a syllabus, teacher tips, exams, media, and books became known as the “Yoga Teacher Training Camp-in-a-Box”.

Nowadays, many courses have shifted to online formats, especially due to increased shipping costs and greater convenience of receiving learnings electronically. However, we have kept the name “Camp-in-a-Box” in our courses, as it is what many people know us by, and it is part of our proud history of offering affordable trainings.

If you’re interested in becoming a restorative yoga teacher, there are a few things you should keep in mind when choosing an online certification course. Here are a few tips:

1. Make sure a reputable organization accredits the course. There are many yoga teacher training programs out there, but not all of them are created equal. Do your research to ensure you’re getting a quality education that will lead to certification.

2. Choose a program that offers a comprehensive curriculum. You’ll want to ensure you’re getting all the information and tools you need to be a successful restorative yoga teacher. Look for courses that cover everything from anatomy and physiology to class planning and marketing your business.

3. Find a course that fits your schedule and learning style. With so many online courses, you shouldn’t have trouble finding one that meets your needs. Consider factors like length, format (e.g., video-based or text-based), and price before deciding.

4. Ask around for recommendations. If you know someone who’s already certified in restorative yoga, ask them for their opinion on which courses they thought were most helpful in their own training. Chances are they’ll be able to point you in the right direction.

By following these tips, you should be able to find an online restorative yoga certification course that’s right for you and your goals!

Valuable Teacher Skills

Ultimately, restorative yoga teacher training is a great way to gain the knowledge and skill set necessary to teach this form of yoga. Dear Paul, I have been delighted with the course of Hatha Yoga Teacher Level 1 and more over, with the good qualifications obtained. I have learnt a lot and I have been able to make my dream true. Becoming a Certified Yoga Teacher gives me the opportunity to carry on studying in recognized Yoga schools in my city and start teaching Hatha Yoga as a professional Yoga Teacher in my own language and in English. The fact of having studing and preparing the exam at my own pace has been very important to me, because I have been able to devote all the necessary time to do it my best and to combine it with my work and my other activities. I have highly appreciated your disposition to help me when I had trouble to see your Yoga teaching video and to answer to my mails so quickly. I never thought that Aura Wellness Center would be so effective and helpful. Thank you very much! Namasté, Consuelo Fernández (Ms)

Dear Paul I have now received my diploma. Thank you again for the remedial yoga course from Aura Wellness. The administration of learner requests and the feedback were outstanding. I definitely learnt a lot. The books were well selected and the videos very interesting. The question papers covered essential knowledge. I went through my answer sheets about three times, and each time learnt something else that I missed on first reading. I found the compiling of the essay very rewarding – it forced me to do some much needed extra reading. I was amazed at the wealth of information available on the internet. My yoga classes are definitely of a higher standard after completing this course. As an added bonus, I must admit that the diploma is beautifully designed – I shall frame it. I hope to regularly update my knowledge making use of AuraWellnessCenter. Thank you. San Viljoen

I’ve been practicing Yoga for about ten years and have learned different things from different instructors. I thought I could understand and appreciate much more if I became a yoga instructor. It took me awhile to commit to it. One of the reasons of holding back was the cost. A 200-hour course around where I live would cost me about ten times more! Another reason was fear of not being able to do a headstand or an eagle because I thought I had to be able to demonstrate all the poses I’d teach. Your encouragement allowed me to overcome that fear. Another huge advantage was time. Your program allowed me the control of my time in working at my own pace. I found your program complete to satisfaction. I now have a solid background which gives me confidence. I began teaching desktop yoga right away at work. My next goal is to teach restorative yoga at a fitness center. How can I ever thank you enough? Your staff was also extremely attentive and responsive to my needs every time I had a question. It is my blessing to have found your website and obtained wisdom. Thank you so much for offering an affordable alternative to the traditional on site teacher training programs. For years I had wanted to be a certified yoga instructor but in addition to being expensive it was difficult to commit to going out of town to attend in person. I found the required reading to be excellent and the test questions challenged me to dig deeper. I am excited that as a result of completing this program, I am now a Certified Restorative Yoga Teacher!

If you are passionate about yoga, move from being the student and become the instructor so you can help others. Aura Wellness Center provided me with a comprehensive program that was clear and easy to follow. I set a realistic due date, paced myself and stuck to it. I practiced yoga regularly to make my course work practical and also practiced teaching 2 months prior to recording my video . I am grateful for Dr. Jerard who made himself available when I had questions. I am honored to have received my certification from Aura Wellness Center.

I looked into a lot of different Yoga Teaching Facilities. They were very expensive and required a membership. Corporations sometimes invest in a teaching program that only teaches their philosophy. I started looking online and loved everything about Aura Wellness Center. I am a Mom of 3 and the flexibility allowed me to find something I enjoy and still take care of my family. The classes provide information in great deal which allows you to personalize programs for individuals. The information you gain from these classes makes you a qualified teacher and improves your skills to assist others. Everytime I contacted Aura Wellness Center I talked with a person not a automated system. It was a pleasure to talk with Dr. Jerard. My goal is to work with kids with sensory disorders and essential oils. I found an amazing team that will help me improve my skills and achieve my goals.

    Rob Finlayson

At the beginning of the Pandemic I decided to take the opportunity to take my Yoga practice to the next level and following a period of research opted to take my Yoga teacher training with the Aura Wellness Centre. The 300 hr Hatha/Restorative course was ideal for me, as a Veteran, I aim to ultimately support other Veterans with their wellbeing through Restorative Yoga. The course was comprehensive, makes excellent use of the opportunity technology gives, and has a strong assessment process, both theoretically and practically, the latter absolutely critical for me. Dr Paul Jerard and his team were great, responsive and kind. Without a doubt, I will definitely be coming back to do more courses with you . Thank you for everything – Namaste
