  2. The Practice discusses the Monkey Mind, Self-Witnessing, Non-Doing, Bare Attention, and Mindfulness.
  3. Distractions & Obstacles Go through Common Obstacles during meditation, along with the Five Hindrances and how to concentrate through those distractions. We also discuss intention, posture, and environment. This section also has 2 hours of videos/guided meditation sessions to help you focus on your practice.
  4. Mindfulness, Suffering, and Karma: Maya and the Perception of Reality are covered in depth throughout this section, along with Suffering, the Four Noble Truths, The Noble Eightfold Path, and Karma.
  5. The Brahma-viharas and the Eight Vicissitudes: these concepts, along with Metta, Selfless Compassion, and Empathy, are discussed.
  6. Additional Techniques are covered in this section for when you have difficulty concentrating. Techniques like Walking Meditation and Guided Meditation are covered.
  7. Your Sessions & Final Thoughts: This section covers preparing your classes, how to deliver your sessions, what supplies are useful, and some advice on places to work once you are certified.

How Does This All Work?

When you purchase your course, you will receive a license key to register on our Student Dashboard at https://my.aurawellnesscenter.com. From there, you can access your syllabus and course curriculum. Your course syllabus provides a breakdown of course objectives and structure and information on completing assignments, including quizzes, journals, an essay related to the textbook, and a final exam.

What Else Should I Know?

Once your exams are graded, your Certificate, with the official Aura Wellness Center logo signed by Dr. Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500, will be available via your Student Portal as a digital copy. Therefore, this can be printed, kept as a digital copy, and used to present during a job interview, to a present employer, or submitted to most organizations for CEUs.

What Should a Meditation Instructor Know?

Books are written on this subject. However, when guiding students through meditation, there are a few things every teacher should know.

First and foremost, creating a safe and comfortable environment for students to relax in is important.

Second, this means finding a quiet place with minimal distractions and ensuring everyone is seated comfortably.

Third, once the environment is set, the next step is to lead students through simple breathing exercises to help them relax.

Finally, everyone is nice and relaxed; you can then start to guide them through the actual meditation.

You are a Meditation Guide

It’s important to keep your voice calm and soothing as you do this, as students will be focusing on your words and following your lead. It’s also important to be aware of each student’s individual needs when leading a meditation. Some students may need more guidance than others, so it’s important to be flexible in your approach.

Verbal Guidance

If at any point during the meditation someone seems to be struggling, it’s always okay to stop and offer some additional guidance. At the end of the meditation, it’s important to thank everyone for participating and take a few moments to check in with each student. This is a good time to see how they are feeling and answer any questions they may have.

What if I Only Want to Learn Meditation?

What if I don’t want to know how to become a certified meditation teacher? Our online meditation teacher training course is a great option if you’re only interested in improving your meditation practice. While you don’t have to teach meditation, you’ll still receive the same training and education as our certified teachers.

What is the Best Progressive Method for Practice?

When it comes to meditating, there is no one-size-fits-all answer. However, some general progressive steps can help improve your practice.

1. Commit yourself to meditate regularly. This may mean setting aside a specific time each day to meditate or simply committing to meditate whenever you can. The important thing is to be consistent.

2. Experiment with different techniques and find what works best for you. There are many different meditation techniques, so it’s important to find the one that works best for you. Once you find a technique that works, stick with it, and don’t be afraid to experiment with different variations.

3. Focus on your breath. The breath is a powerful tool for focus and concentration, so focus on it during your meditation practice.

4. Let go of distractions. One of the most difficult things about meditation is letting go of all the distractions that constantly bombard our minds. Let go of these distractions if you want to get the most out of your practice.

5. Persevere with your practice. Progress in meditation teacher training is best when you set up a personal schedule for your sessions.

    I recently completed the Meditation certificate. This is an excellent
    grounding for the subject. There are so many different types of
    meditation being offered out there, and so much material, that it can
    be exasperating to sort through it all. The “Insight Meditation” text
    provided with the course logically presents what you need to know.
    Sample meditations are provided. The written exam covers everything
    and is not exceptionally difficult. I finished the course in about 2
    months. Highly recommended.

    Aura wellness center allowed me to take my time (longer than I thought) to complete my certification process. If it wasn’t self-paced, I would have never done it. The materials included with the course are top notch and come from some of the most highly respected Meditation teachers in the world. The certification exam itself is a process that allowed me to deepen my understanding and love of meditation. The examination questions range from simple to thought-provoking and really let me look deeply at what I had learned and where I want to continue learning.

    The process itself was easy to start, challenging, but worth it to finish. A good jumping off point for deepening your own appreciation of meditation and/or preparing you to help others learn this outstanding practice.

    Aura wellness gave me an excellent opportunity to get my meditation teaching certification which I am already putting to use. The former facilitator for my company’s mindfulness meditation center had recently left the company and the program had ended despite a high popularity. I was able to step in with the confidence that this certification brings. I know full well I am ready to put myself out there and become the new facilitator for our mindfulness meditation class.     As a working mom, with a full time job and a start up behavioral wellness practice, I knew I was going to need a program with flexibility.     I completed the Meditation course. I have nothing to say but great things. For an online course it’s very thorough, you really get a grasp on what meditation is all about. I felt myself change as a person, I experienced struggle and bliss but it was so worth it. It is a lot of work, you have to dedicate your time to it, however to truly understand the concept of meditation it is necessary. This course will change your life. I also loved that the teachers are very helpful and respond quickly. You get to take quizzes throughout the course so when it comes to the final exam you definitely feel more confident. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who is interested in meditation, already meditates or would like to help themselves and others.

    Welcome, my name is Teasha Camargo. Are you looking for something incredible, start by looking within yourself? Vipassana Meditation was introduced to me a little over a year ago. My saving grace. I am on a spark-joy journey. I love learning, attracting things along the way, and fine-tuning them. It is a beautiful balance of yin and yang, watching as it comes and goes. I think of the midday sun casting shadows as the sun moves across the sky so do the shadows until it is no longer there. The shadows return only if the sun is out. It may be a different story if there are streetlights that cast upon it. Not worrying about whether it stays or goes. These shadows represent the good and bad feelings appreciating the value while it is there, after all, is only temporary. I feel more joy when my mind is clear. It opens many more opportunities as I see things from a different perspective. I am excited about my path of learning. I experienced amazing things leading up to the day I found The Aura Wellness Center. They are very knowledgeable, kind, patient, and always ready to give you a helping hand.     This was a great course and tool to take my experience and understanding of Mindfulness to a whole new level. The text book was an important addition to the online content and meant you had to be able to jump and reference between the sources of information which was fun. The deeper analysis and reflection of your own practice was also new to me and was very insightful. It encouraged new approaches to and techniques of meditation which was eye opening. The course support was also excellent with online replies timely and helpful, I would strongly recommend this course to anyone interested in going deeper into their mindfulness meditation practice with a view to also teaching.
