- Learning the Asanas this is an 6-part lesson that thoroughly covers the asanas with a focus on a Chair Yoga class setting. In Part One we thoroughly cover the asana names, how to practice them, muscles affected, variations, modifications, etc. However, since a Chair Yoga practices focus is on adjusting the practice to meet the needs of your students, these lessons dive into many of the most commonly practiced Chair Yoga postures and provide more in-depth information on modifications and variations of the asanas. Why is it called, “Yoga Teacher Training Camp-in-a-Box?”
In 1998, Aura Wellness Center started offering Yoga Teacher Trainings, lead by Dr. Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500, YACEP, called “Yoga Teacher Training Camps” – a full month immersion course.
By 2002, many of our local students had said they wanted to take a Yoga Teacher Training, however, due to family obligations, work schedules, and cost, it was impossible to take a month off and become a Yoga teacher. Dr. Paul Jerard started thinking about how to make an affordable, convenient, and self-paced training to work on anyone’s schedule.
He made these new courses with the same curriculum, materials, and lessons as an onsite training, so that a graduating teacher would have the same experience. These courses would be later shipped in boxes all over the world with a syllabus, teacher tips, exams, media, and books became known as the “Yoga Teacher Training Camp-in-a-Box”.
Nowadays, many courses have shifted to online formats, especially due to increased shipping costs and greater convenience of receiving learnings electronically. However, we have kept the name “Camp-in-a-Box” in our courses, as it is what many people know us by, and it is part of our proud history of offering affordable trainings.

Jeanne S. Valenti –
I received my Certification for Chair Yoga at the end of March, 2018. I found this course to be excellent and it taught me a lot about Yoga and myself. It wasn’t easy for a 76 yr young to take this course. It involved a
lot of time, energy and effort but it was so worth it. I had been practicing and learning about yoga for
fifteen years. This course rounded out my knowledge and gave me more confidence. Teaching has become so much more enjoyable and easier. It has wetted my appetite to learn more and more about
yoga’s secrets.
I thank you so much for the opportunity Aura Wellness gave me to better my career and my practice.
If you are willing to put in the work and if you are a self-starter this course is for you. The materials for this
course are superior. I would recommend this course even for veteran yoga instructors.
